Grace graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Queen’s University, Belfast, UK, in 2017. She chambered with MKP and was called to the Malaysian Bar in January 2020.
Grace has been a member of the Property & Banking Department of the firm since the beginning of her legal practice in early 2020. She has handled various property and real estate and banking matters, including corporate and retail real estate transactions, property development projects, corporate and commercial banking matters, retail banking, property joint ventures, leases and tenancies and advising on licensing and regulatory approvals and stamp duty issues in relation to property matters. In the course of her corporate real estate practice, Grace has also advised on real estate investment trust (REIT) property acquisitions and divestments.
Grace has been involved amongst others in advising on the following recent transactions:
- RM180 million acquisition by CapitaLand Malaysia Trust from PTT Logistics Hub 1 Sdn. Bhd. (a subsidiary of PTT Synergy Group Berhad) and lease-back of a single-storey industrial warehouse being constructed on land in Elmina Business Park, Selangor.
- RM680 million acquisition by IOI Properties Group Berhad (IOIPG) of Tropicana Gardens Mall, located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, from Tropicana Corporation Berhad and RM90.1 million acquisition by IOIPG of a 3.99 hectares parcel of freehold land located in Pantai Kok, Langkawi.
- RM392.04 million acquisition by Mah Sing Group Berhad from Petaling Garden Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of S P Setia Berhad, of a 500 acres freehold land in Semenyih.
- RM520 million acquisition by Sunway REIT from Kwasa Properties Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of the Employees Provident Fund Board), of six hypermarkets/retail complexes in the Klang Valley (Kinrara, Putra Heights, USJ, Klang & Ulu Klang) and Johor (Plentong).
She is also a member of the team advising on the listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia of Paradigm REIT (established by WCT Holdings Berhad), involving the acquisition of Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre, Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya and Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru.
